Purchasing Clerk

Reports To: VP, Operations & Finance

A Purchasing Clerk at Avaska will compile requests for materials, prepare purchase orders, keep track of purchases and supplies, and handle inquiries about orders.  They gather information and records to draw up purchase orders for the procurement of materials and services. They make sure that what was purchased arrives on schedule and meets our specifications.


  • Compile and place purchase orders
  • New order data entry
  • Inventory and purchasing data entry
  • Track status of orders and requisitions
  • Communicate with vendors on order status
  • Assist with sourcing duties
  • Back-order tracking
  • Prepare stock level and inbound inventory updates to stakeholders
  • Track and report on inbound shipments
  • Update pricing and landed costs data


  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to learn purchasing procedures and policies
  • Comfortable with MS Excel and Microsoft Suite
  • Ability to type 50 words/minute
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • At least two years of clerical or purchasing experience preferred
